How Much Do Electricians Earn?
Is one of the most asked questions.
There are many benefits to becoming an electrician such as being your own boss, different day-to-day tasks, always being in demand, and many more. One huge bonus is the money – electricians are paid the highest out of all the trades and their average salary continues to grow each year.
The annual salary for electricians has risen by 4% over the last two years according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS.) This figure has continued to grow over the last few years.
Figures from April 2020 revealed that the annual full-time gross for electricians and electrical fitters reached an all-time high of £33,495. In 2019, this number was £33,176 and was at £32,135 in 2018 – with the demand for electricians in the UK being almost constant, we don’t think this number will be going down anytime soon.
The trades industry as a whole have some great earning opportunities and many of them are in demand. However, out of all the trades, electricians are the ones who earn the most. The table below shows different trades and their annual salary for 2020.
